Happy World Book Day 2018!
Hetton School staff celebrated some of their favourite stories once again in recognition of World Book Day. The annual celebration of authors, illustrators and reading was spearheaded by a very enthusiastic English Department who all bravely came in to school as a character from Alice in Wonderland.
This year we decided that we’d like to spend the first 10 minutes of every lesson celebrating sections from our favourite books with our students. As a result we had some really enjoyable and engaging activities with our classes ranging from drama performances to quizzes. I’d personally like to congratulate Dainey Smith and Amber Stubbs for their superb effort while completing Mrs Cooke’s quick quiz. Well done girls!
Thank you for supporting our drive to help our students realise the importance of a good book.
